Pazopanib is a powerful medication, from the Multi-Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors class. It blocks several proteins involved in cancer growth and spread, including VEGFR 1, 2, and 3; PDGFRs α and β; c-KIT, and others. By targeting these proteins, it prevents the formation of new blood vessels that tumors need to thrive. Pazopanib competes with ATP (Adenosine triphosphate), a molecule that activates these proteins, to inhibit their signaling pathways, thus preventing tumor cell growth, survival, and migration.
